Melissa Halloran, CPDT-KA

Dawg House Manager/Instructor

With a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego minoring in Zoology, Melissa’s dog training approach is informed by behavioral science – specifically how socially oriented animals interact with members of their own species and relate to humans. She brings insights from working with animals and humans in both the laboratory and the real world to her work as the All Dawgs Dawg House manager, managing our Dawgie Daycare, Boarding School and Home DawgCare (Pet Sitting). Melissa also instructs group classes and private lessons.

Melissa’s fieldwork included a four-month residency internship in Hawaii at the Maui Bird Conservation Center, where she helped researchers prepare endangered birds for release into the wild. As the Manager of a dog boarding business and a Resident Care Aid at a senior assisted living facility, she learned to make both animals and people feel at home. In addition to being an All Dawgs Instructor, Melissa is currently working at that New York State Tax & Finance office.

Melissa is owned by Baloo (Bernese Mountain Dog), Fly (a Malinois mix), and Harlem (A Black Lab). She also has two parrots and three cockatiels.
